SERGEANT AT ARMS - ELDON KIDD
Eldon Kidd is a native of Lynchburg, Ohio and
enlisted in the Marine Corps on September 10,
1955. Upon graduating from Recruit training in
San Diego, CA, he attended the School of
Infantry where he became qualified as a Team
Leader for Crew Served Weapons (MOS 0331). From
January 1956 to September 1958 he served with
the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, CA.
Eldon earned promotions to the rank of Corporal.
He also earned the 'Expert' Rifle badge and was
awarded the National Defense Service Medal
before honorably leaving the Marine Corps in
1958.
Now fully retired, Eldon enjoys his time
gardening as well as hunting and fishing. He is
very active in his community and Church where he
serves as the Treasurer for the Cross Pointe
Christian Church in Breeman, GA.
Eldon is a charter member of the Aubrey Gilbert
Detachment and was elected as the
Sergeant-at-Arms in August 2008.
